INTRODUCTION:

The Titan series of AC POWER SOURCES, FREQUENCY CONVERTERS, AC TO AC CONVERTERS, AMPLIFIERS delivers a much higher level of performance than has been previously obtained by competitive linear products. A new and proven design approach using pulse width modulation (PWM) and toroidal magnetics enables the unit to deliver an impressive 70% to 82% power transfer efficiency across the full output voltage range resulting in cool operation at any output level. In sharp contrast, traditional linear AC POWER SOURCES have an efficiency of only 5% to 50% depending on output level and load conditions. In addition, since the Titan output stages have four-quadrant topology, the unit is capable of delivering its full rated output voltage and current without derating into any reactive load with any power factor without any excessive heating, shutdown or possible damage as would be encountered in the traditional linear amplifier designs. Reactive power is recirculated back to the unit with 90% efficiency as opposed to being wasted and dissipated in the form of excessive heat in the conventional linear design. This fact alone cuts utility bills for both operating the unit itself and air conditioning for the housed facility. Reliability is greatly enhanced as the operator need not check an instruction manual for a derating curve to ensure safe operation since the power factor may change, not always be known or be confusing to measure. All these application headaches are eliminated by specifying the Titan series AC POWER SOURCES, FREQUENCY CONVERTERS, AC TO AC CONVERTERS, AMPLIFIERS, with their completely protected outputs and no confusing derating curves.

• Ideal for operating or testing 400HZ instruments, synchros, gyros, triac and SCR phase controllers, motors, fans, transducers, shaker tables, transformers, power supplies, relays, AC line-operated equipment for either foreign or domestic use; or any other system requiring a precision AC POWER SOURCE OR FREQUENCY CONVERTER.

OUTPUT CAPABILITY:

• 165 VA, 500 VA, 1 KVA, 2 KVA, 3 KVA, 4 KVA, 5 KVA, and 6 KVA systems available.
• Use multiple 1 KVA Mainframes/AC Power Sources/Frequency Converters with single master oscillator for power up to 6 KVA.
• Bandwidth: usable 20 Hz - 20 KHz, full output 45 Hz - 15 KHz.
• Stable, full output voltage and current without derating into any reactive load with power factor from unity to zero, leading or lagging.
• Full-current output at any output voltage with no confusing derating curves.
• Low sinewave distortion, excellent load and line regulation.
• High peak current rated units available.

PROTECTION:

• Output is completely overload and short-circuit-proof, with automatic and smooth recovery.
• Unit can operate safely and continuously into any type of symmetrical AC load without derating, overheating, or shutdown.
• In the event of an internal fault, a self-diagnostic fault-isolation system will completely shut the unit down and prevent any catastrophic failures.
• Thermal protection will shut down unit if ventilation is choked off.

INTERFACE:

• Full digital metering of frequency, voltage, and current.
• Use internal sinewave oscillator or external input signal.
• Convenient, front panel mounted 130V/260V voltage range switch, three-way binding posts
  and standard NEMA AC receptacles plus rear mounted terminal block.
• Inputs and outputs both completely isolated and floating with respect to ground.
